The International Karate Do and Martial Arts Union - also know as IKUMA - is shaped in its structure from an idea born thanks to the performed and participated activities of U.K.I.D.A. - Italy Karate Union and Associated Disciplines -, with the collaboration of the master Francesco (Franco) Sorrentino and his friends living in Germany, France, Switzerland, Hungary and Kenya. The central core of this organisation is known to be Shihan Fulvio Lorenzetti, and since 1992 has been actively promoting this reality in many countries of the world. The IKUMA was built and run to be the real home for all those who are training in the Japanese Karate and the Oriental Combat Disciplines, for those who can find themselves in values like honesty, fairness and professionalism. On this values are built the philosophy and the activities of the IKUMA. We are not interested in blown up data, in fake representatives or in a large amount of DANs; we are looking for guys who can agree with our choice in taking a path of seek and training of Martial Arts, which are own choices, both in the sport competitions and in the traditional ambit. For these reasons, we chose to spend our energies in the creation of an organisation with few rules, but clears and easy to understand, with no will to be, nor to become, a controller for anyone. Everyone should have the chance to express his own way, from the management level to the of the level he wants to represent. The International Karate Do and Martial Arts Union - IKUMA - affiliates national known groups until a single trainer, sets up contests, meetings and workshops for Masters, Instructors and Referees, cooperates with prestigious institutes researching in martial arts, both international and oriental. The international research allows technical activities and cultural researches with a large number of Martial Arts' School.

IMPORTANT:
No one cal falsely declare to represent the IKUMA activities or the IKUMA itself if he does not posses the written documentation issued by the IKUMA Headquarter. All the IKUMA's offices are renewed every year. Further extensions are always issued by written documentation. Dans, Titles and Qualifications are granted only to the members, possessing a personal INTERNATIONAL BUDOPASS. The INTERNATIONAL BUDOPASS allows the participation to national and international activities, as well as the activities of other organisations.
